Suspension & Dismissal

Delaware Digital University is committed to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. We expect our students to conduct themselves in a professional and ethical manner at all times. To ensure that we maintain these standards, we have developed the following Suspension & Dismissal Policy:

Suspension:

The university may suspend a student for the following reasons:

  • Violation of academic integrity, including plagiarism or cheating on exams
  • Violation of university policies, including those related to behavior, harassment, or discrimination
  • Disruptive behavior in the classroom or online learning environment
  • Criminal behavior that occurs on or off campus and is related to the university

If a student is suspended, they will be immediately removed from their courses or program and will be prohibited from participating in any university activities or events. The duration of the suspension will be determined by the severity of the violation and will be communicated to the student in writing. The student will also be informed of the conditions required for reinstatement.

Dismissal:

The university may dismiss a student for the following reasons:

  • Repeated violations of academic integrity or university policies
  • Behavior that is deemed dangerous or harmful to other students, faculty, or staff
  • Criminal behavior that is deemed serious and is related to the university
  • Failure to meet academic requirements, such as repeated academic probation or failure to maintain a minimum GPA

If a student is dismissed, they will be immediately removed from their courses or program and will be prohibited from participating in any university activities or events. The decision to dismiss a student is final and may not be appealed.

Appeals Process:

If a student wishes to appeal a suspension or dismissal, they must submit a written appeal to the university within 14 days of receiving the notification of the decision. The appeal should include a detailed explanation of the reasons for the appeal and any relevant supporting documentation. The appeal will be reviewed by a university appeals committee, which will make a final decision within 30 days of receiving the appeal.

We hope that this policy helps to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students at Delaware Digital University. If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please contact our student services department for further assistance.
